Who is Shri Krishna?
Śrī Kṛṣṇa is revered in Sanātana Dharma as Viṣṇu’s Pūrṇa Avatāra—a complete divine manifestation—and as Param Brahman, the Supreme Reality. In the Bhagavad Gītā, Kṛṣṇa describes Himself as the source of all existence, and Arjuna recognises Him as Supreme Brahman. He entered human life and stood beside Arjuna as friend, charioteer and guide.
Why He appeared
When dharma declines and adharma rises, Kṛṣṇa says He manifests to protect the virtuous, confront wrongdoing and re-establish dharma. On the field of Kurukṣetra, He meets Arjuna’s grief and moral confusion with guidance that reaches beyond one battle.
What He teaches
The Ātman endures beyond the changing body. Do your rightful work wholeheartedly without clinging to its rewards (Niṣkāma Karma). Train the restless mind through practice and detachment. Bring action, knowledge, meditation and devotion together, and seek freedom through sincere surrender to the Divine.
